The 35th Dundonald Highland Games are set to captivate attendees with a thrilling

line up of events and family-friendly activities.

Taking place on Saturday, August 3, against the stunning backdrop of Dundonald Castle, this year’s Games promise an unforgettable experience for all.


Games Week Highlights:


1. Family Fun Day (July 28, 12-3pm): Kick off Games Week with a delightful family

fun day on the Castle hill. Enjoy picnics, interactive history experiences, and castle

tours. No tickets required – just join us!


2. Car Treasure Hunt (July 29, 6-7pm): Explore Dundonald with family and friends

during our popular Car Treasure Hunt. Solve clues and uncover local secrets.

3. Walking Treasure Hunt (July 30, 7pm): Embark on a village adventure starting

from the Castle.


4. Children’s Pet Show and Fun Run (July 31): Bring the kids for adorable pet

displays and a fun run around our park. Plus, a challenging 10K race for ages 15 and

up.


5. 16+ Football Competition (August 1): Compete for glory and a £100 prize.


6. Domino Competition (August 2): The Auchans host a thrilling domino contest for

kids (5.30-6.30pm) and adults (7pm). Will the Games Committee retain the coveted

prize?


Main Event – Dundonald Highland Games (August 3):


Over 8 pipe bands, including The Royal Army of Oman and Royal Airforce of Oman.

100+ highland dancers competing on stage.


Pram race, heavy events, tug o’ war, family sports, and side stalls.

Street Procession at 12 noon featuring Games Queen Keria Esquerde, attendants

Eilidh Speirs and Lily Haddow, and Junior Chieftain Archer Clark.


Grand finale: Massed Pipe Bands Parade led by 2024 Chieftain Adam Howie.

Dundonald Games Society Chairperson John Bryson expressed excitement for this

year’s event, celebrating the hard work of past and present committee members.

The Games will be attended by South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell.
