A76 near Howford Bridge, South of Mauchline Set to close this weekend

On behalf of Transport Scotland, Scotland TranServ will this weekend resurface approximately 1km of the A76 near Howford Bridge, South of Mauchline.

In order to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement an overnight closure of the carriageway on Thursday 11thJuly, followed by a weekend closure of the trunk road from 7pm on Friday 12th to Monday 15th July.

Omar Sarwar, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said:

“We have been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to plan this short programme of work. Due to the nature of the trunk road in this area, it will be necessary to implement a series of closures, so that we can protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public.

“The patching programme will see around a kilometre of the A76 resurfaced in this area. We are working across the weekend in order to minimise disruption to the commuters and businesses who use the route every day.”

In order to reduce the impact on the community and businesses, closures will be implemented during the following times:

8pm on Thursday 11th to 6am on Friday 12th July

7pm on Friday 12th to 6am on Monday 15th July

Diversions will be in place throughout this programme of work. Drivers are advised to allow additional time for their journeys. Live trunk road information is available by visiting trafficscotland.org, or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
