Alloway Primary School and Early Years Centre recently received a positive inspection report from Education Scotland.

In January 2025, inspectors from Education Scotland visited the school and nursery class where they talked to parents, carers and children and worked closely with the head teacher and staff.
The inspection praised the headteacher and leadership team for providing the staff with strong leadership and direction. The highly skilled staff were also commended for their commitment to improving the quality of learning and teaching; driving forward change; and encouraging all children to succeed.
The report highlights that across the school, children are confident, motivated, highly independent learners who have a strong voice in shaping their learning.
The inspection also identified that staff build very positive relationships with children and their families and praised the careful planning of additional supports and interventions, allowing all children to feel included.
Across the school, children sustained high levels of attainment and staff provided children with a wide range of experiences to learn in different contexts and to celebrate success through their achievements.

Councillor William Grant, Education Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said:
"The head teacher and staff at Alloway Primary School and Early Years Centre should be extremely proud of this achievement. They are committed to providing the most nurturing and engaging environments for our children and young people, and its fantastic to see their efforts recognised.
"I'm sure the school will continue to work with parents and carers, children, and the community to build upon this success; maintain high levels of attainment; and address any areas for improvement."
