On Monday 2 December 2019 South Ayrshire Police and partners officially launched their ‘Safer South Ayrshire’ Festive Safety Campaign.
The campaign will run throughout the festive period and into the New Year to ensure residents, visitors and businesses can work, party and shop safely, keep their homes and businesses secure as well as keeping safe on our roads.
Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Local Area Commander for South Ayrshire, said “This is an extremely busy time of year for everyone and we want to ensure that it can be enjoyed safely”.
“We will have additional officers within our town centres on high visibility patrol to reassure shoppers and deter criminality – anyone with any concerns should approach officers and they will be more than happy to help”.
“We will be working with our partners in the South Ayrshire Council Community Safety, CCTV, Street Pastors, taxi marshals as well as St Andrews first Aid to maximise public safety”.
“Alongside working with our partners I would also ask that residents and visitors consider their own safety before visiting, shopping or celebrating the festivities in South Ayrshire – plan ahead, stick with friends or family and look after your belongings and if you are need of any help contact us”.
“Can I take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas as well as a happy new year”.
