Ayrshire’s food scene has a new star as Spudbuds, the latest venture from the team behind the hugely popular Tempura, opened its doors yesterday only to sell out within hours.

Excitement had clearly been building ahead of the launch, as eager customers formed a long queue outside before the doors even opened.
The anticipation paid off for those at the front, but with Spudbuds shifting an incredible 576 spuds and 124 portions of chips, demand was so high that they sold out before the day was over.
The team took to social media to share their appreciation:
“576 spuds and 124 portions of chips sold on our first day. Thank you so much to everyone that came along. See you again tomorrow”
Located in Alloway Street of Ayr, Spudbuds specialises in baked potatoes and chunky chips, loaded with a range of delicious fillings and toppings.
From classics like cheese, beans, and crispy bacon to indulgent options such as Thai chicken curry, BBQ pulled pork, and chilli con carne, the new eatery offers something for every taste.
With a track record of success in Ayr, Troon, Prestwick, and Kilmarnock, the Tempura team is no stranger to Ayrshire’s food scene. Their latest concept brings a fresh, casual approach to comfort food, and if opening day is anything to go by, Spudbuds is set to become another local favourite.
For those who missed out on opening day, Spudbuds is back at it again today, ready to serve up their signature loaded spuds.
