Staff and children at Barassie Primary got into the spirit of Red Nose Day 2017 by digging deep for Comic Relief. The school put on a special Red Nose Day lunchtime menu, with a dress down day raising funds for charity.
Red Nose Day took place across the UK on Friday 24 March with the aim of making the world a better place, simply by having a great time. Comic Relief spends the money raised to help the people who really need it most, both here in the UK and across Africa.
The fundraising at Barassie was a huge success with more than 190 children opting to dress down and enjoy the special one-off lunch, raising £200 on the day.
Headteacher at Barassie Primary School, Linda Clarkson, said it had been a fantastic effort, “Everyone really got behind the day, with canteen staff serving up a feast of red nose delights which the children just couldn’t get enough of.
“With red clothes, noses and wacky glasses as far as the eye could see, I think it’s fair to say this fun way to raise funds for good causes was a huge hit at the school.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved behind the scenes in helping to make this happen and look forward to doing it all again next year!”
