Stagecoach will operate park and ride shuttles, which are funded by The R&A, from the official car parks to the Championship at Royal Troon. On approach to Troon, fans should follow signs to “The Open Park & Ride”. In addition to the park and ride services, a complimentary shuttle service will run every afternoon throughout the Championship from South Beach, Troon, to Troon town centre to enable fans to easily access the variety of local businesses in Troon town centre.

In partnership with Scotrail, Stagecoach is also offering a dedicated GolfLink bus shuttle between Troon train station and the venue, ensuring easy transportation for golf enthusiasts travelling by rail to attend The Open.

Travel tickets for the GolfLink service are now available for purchase in advance from train station ticket offices, on board ScotRail trains and through the ScotRail website and app. Buying tickets in advance will streamline the travel experience and allow more time for golf fans to enjoy the Championship.

These transport options will run for the full week of The Open, from 14th to 21st July. The 152nd Open at Royal Troon celebrates 101 years since the Championship was originally played there.

Fiona Doherty, Managing Director, Stagecoach West Scotland, said:

“Working hand in hand with The R&A and ScotRail enables us to offer sustainable and environmentally friendly transport options.

“Through our collaboration with ScotRail, we want to enhance the experience for golf fans by providing seamless and convenient access to and from Royal Troon Golf Club, allowing spectators to focus on enjoying the event.”

Troon is well-connected to local accommodation hubs around Ayrshire, including Ayr, Dundonald, Irvine and Kilmarnock. The local public bus network offers services connecting Troon to these destinations, with convenient stops near the main public entrance to The Open.
