Emergency Department at Ayr Hospital flooded - patients diverted to Crosshouse

UPDATE 17:50, 2ND FEB - "The flooding issue at University Hospital Ayr Emergency Department has now been rectified and we are no longer diverting patients to Crosshouse."
Patients at the Emergency Department at Ayr Hospital have been diverted to Crosshouse following a flood.

In a statement released by the NHS Ayrshire & Arran, they said people in emergencies should contact 999 or go to University Hospital Crosshouse.
Patients who were at the Emergency Department at Ayr Hospital are being diverted to Crosshouse.
The statement from NHS Ayrshire & Arran says:
"Due to a flood in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Ayr, we are having to divert patients from the unit.
"If you need medical care but it is not an emergency, please call NHS24 on 111.
"For emergencies only, call 999 or go to University Hospital Crosshouse. Please remember the unit will be extremely busy and so only come if it is an emergency.
We will provide further information as it comes."
The public have been advised in the statement that the unit at Crosshouse will be 'extremely busy' and only to attend if it is an emergency.
