A fed-up Ayrshire businessman is taking a stand against the relentless scourge of fly tipping that is blighting the region’s countryside and car parks.

Willie Hogg, owner of WSH Fencing, has launched a social media campaign using his company’s Facebook page to expose the sheer scale of illegal dumping across Ayrshire.
His videos lay bare the ugly truth mattresses, furniture, and bags of household waste dumped in remote lanes and scenic spots, turning parts of the region into unofficial dumping grounds.
The response has been swift. Three local councillors from East and South Ayrshire have publicly thrown their weight behind Hogg’s campaign.
Ayrshire Daily News met with Hogg and the councillors at Ayr cattle market, where local farmers, some of whom regularly face the burden of cleaning up private land, also lent their voices to the cause.
Colin Mair from the National Farmers Union joined the group to underline the scale of the problem facing rural communities.
“This isn’t just an eyesore, it’s a health hazard, a financial burden, and an insult to the people who take pride in Ayrshire,” Hogg said. “We’re not just highlighting the problem. We’re demanding action.”
With council-run recycling centres available, campaigners say there is no excuse for the growing trend of fly tipping, which continues to frustrate residents and place unnecessary pressure on landowners and local authorities.
The campaign will continue across WSH Fencing’s Facebook platform and Ayrshire Daily News will remain firmly behind the fight to clean up our communities.
