It's that time of year again when the streets of Ayr are set to be filled with festive cheer and jolly runners! The Ayr Santa Dash, a beloved community event, is happening this Sunday, 15th December.
Organised by the Ayr Rugby Club, this event promises to be a fun-filled day for participants and spectators alike.
Organiser, Brian Williamson said:
“The Ayr Santa Dash is all about community, it is about our town’s sporting club’s putting on an event for the whole town and encouraging all local sporting groups, community organisations and charities to use the platform to raise money.”
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to get into the holiday spirit, the Santa Dash is open to all ages and abilities. Participants are encouraged to don their finest Santa suits as they dash through the scenic route lined with cheering crowds. The event is a fantastic opportunity to spread holiday joy while supporting local causes.
The starting point will be at the Ayr Rugby Club, and the dash will kick off at 12:00PM. Early arrival is encouraged (11AM) to enjoy some festive fun before the dash begins. There will be hot drinks and snacks available to keep everyone warm and energized.
Whether you're running solo, with family, or as part of a team, the Ayr Santa Dash is a wonderful way to engage with the community and celebrate the season. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the memorable moments!
