NHS Ayrshire & Arran recently hosted two special events to recognise and celebrate the dedication of staff who have served for more than 40 years with NHSScotland. The celebration events brought together colleagues who have dedicated their careers to providing health and care services to their local communities.

There were two events – one in University Hospital Ayr, and one in University Hospital Crosshouse – where guests enjoyed an afternoon tea, sharing memories and reflecting on the changes they have witnessed throughout their years of service. All those celebrating more than 40 years’ service were presented with a commemorative pin and card.

Lesley Bowie, Chair of Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board, explained:

“It is an honour to recognise the incredible dedication and commitment of our colleagues who have given more than 40 years of service to the NHS. Their unwavering passion and hard work have made a lasting impact on patients, families, and the wider community. They truly embody the values of the NHS, and we are immensely grateful for their service.”

Claire Burden, Chief Executive, added:

“We have 127 members of staff working in the organisation who have dedicated more than four decades to caring and service provision.  It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to meet with colleagues at our celebration events and have time to hear their stories from over the years.

“These events give us the time to recognise and celebrate the dedication and resilience of our staff. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their commitment in ensuring the continued development and success of all our health and care services.”
