Police appealing for information following a Robbery in Kilmarnock

ROBBERY - KILMARNOCK

Detectives at Kilmarnock are appealing for information following a robbery in Kilmarnock on Thursday 4 October 2018.

Around 9.20pm on Thursday evening, a 22 year-old man was sitting in his red Fiat 500 in Woodhill Road, Kilmarnock, when he was attacked and robbed by three men who had verbally abused him and thrown items at his car.

Although not injured during the assault, he has been left badly shaken as a result of the incident.

The three suspects were in their mid-twenties, around 5ft 10 inches in height and were wearing dark coloured clothing.

Detective Constable Peter Sweeney, Kilmarnock CID, said:

“The man was parked up in his car when three men started shouting abuse at him and throwing items which struck the vehicle. As he got out of the car, two of the men grabbed and assaulted him whilst the third suspect got into the vehicle.

"The owner managed to get back to the car and chase the suspect who got away with his mobile.

“I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with information that may assist this enquiry. In particular, I would like to speak to the woman who stopped at the scene after seeing the men running off as her information could prove vital in identifying the attackers and so we would appeal to her to come forward.”

Information can be passed to contact Kilmarnock Police Office via 101. Please quote reference number 3660 of 4th October when calling. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted in confidence on 0800 555 111.
