The £20 million project, managed by hub South West Scotland and constructed by Morgan Sindall, features modern facilities designed for an enhanced learning experience.

Glenburn Primary, St Ninian's Primary, and Prestwick North Early Years Centre moved into the new buildings in August last year. The completion of an all-weather pitch followed just before Christmas. The final phase of the project included the completion of the remaining playground areas and the staff car park.

BDP architects designed the buildings to create inspiring modern spaces for teaching and learning, with sustainable features such as solar panels, heat pumps, and a highly insulated envelope. The completed playground offers a diverse environment for play and learning, including an allotment garden, an amphitheater, and tunnels beneath grass mounds. Energy consumption data indicates a 61% reduction compared to the two schools the campus replaced.

A formal opening ceremony is scheduled for June 2023. Councillor Stephen Ferry, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Education, praised the new campus, saying, "Prestwick North Educational Campus is providing pupils and staff with a modern and engaging environment for learning." He thanked everyone involved and highlighted the positive impact the campus has had on students.

Stuart Parker, managing director of Morgan Sindall's Scotland team, expressed delight at handing over the keys to the completed campus. Parker thanked the team and local supply chain for their tireless work on the development and said, "thanks to a shared vision with our project partners, we have created a sustainable and inspiring state-of-the-art place to learn."
