Provost Jim Todd has presented a cheque for £10,746 to MND Scotland which was raised during his two-year support for the charity.
Over the last two years, the Provost has been organising and attending events which helped to increase awareness of MND and raise money that will now be used by the charity to provide care and support to people affected by Motor Neuron Disease, as well as funding vital research into finding a cure.
Christine Clark from MND Scotland visited Council HQ to accept the donation.
Provost Todd said:
“I was very pleased to hand over the money raised as I know that MND Scotland will put it to very good use in helping to find a cure for this cruel and devastating disease, and to support the families who are living with it. The charity’s mission is to ‘make time count’ for people who are living with MND and I hope that we have gone some way to helping them with this aim.
“I am extremely grateful to everyone who has donated over the last two years and above all, I hope that we have managed to spread awareness of MND and how anyone affected by it can receive the support they need.”
