South Ayrshire Provost visits Lichtenfels, Germany to celebrate 50 years of Town Twinning agreement

South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell visited Lichtenfels in Germany at the invitation of the Burgermeister and the Town Twinning Committee of Lichtenfels, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Town Twinning agreement between Prestwick and the Bavarian town.

Provost Campbell was accompanied by South Ayrshire Council’s Chief Executive Mike Newall, President of Prestwick Town Twinning Association Rhona Allanach, and members of the twinning association. 


They attended a civic event hosted by Burgermeister, Andreas Hügerich, First Mayor City of Lichtenfels, at the City Castle on Saturday 27 July to mark the significant milestone and strengthen future connections between the two towns. 


Prior to signing the Anniversary Book, there was a performance Glen Regnitz Pipe Band.
