Gaynor Campbell, a Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology, has received the Roy Award from the national heart failure charity, Pumping Marvellous, for her work in supporting people living with heart failure.
Gaynor also received the prestigious Sarah McCann Inspirational Individual Award for her exceptional contribution to Advanced Nursing Practice in the work she does in the Acute Cardiac Care and Cardiac Day Units at University Hospital Crosshouse.
Speaking about the awards, Gaynor, from Kilmarnock, said,
“I am very grateful and honoured to have been chosen for these awards. I consider it a real privilege to do the job I do and support patients with heart failure in Ayrshire and Arran. There is still lots of work to be done in helping to improve time to diagnosis and treatment for all heart failure patients. I really do believe we can beat heart failure together.”
Jennifer Wilson, Nurse Director, said:
“We are delighted that Gaynor’s hard work and commitment has been recognised in this way. Her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for what she does is immediately obvious to anyone who meets her. She really is an inspiration. Congratulations, Gaynor!”
