The Consul General of India, Mr. Hitesh J. Rajpal, received a very warm welcome when he visited East Ayrshire this week.
Mr Rajpal was invited to the Burns Monument Centre in Kilmarnock in the morning where he received a tour of the Centre and learned more about the Family History library and Scotland’s People, a website which is the official Scottish genealogy resource.

ularly close links to India as there is also a Patna in India, a riverside city that extends along the south bank of the Ganges River.
The visitors were piped in and then entertained with Scottish dancing, singing and a Burns recitation before enjoying a Scottish-themed menu with an Indian twist at lunchtime.
