One of Ayrshire’s much-loved traditional summer events is preparing to return, with the Ayr & District Flower Show taking over Ayr Racecourse on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August.
The two-day show will bring together some of the finest flowers, home-grown produce, baking, crafts and creative talent from across the area, with doors open from 10am until 5pm each day.
While flowers are naturally at the heart of the event, there is much more to discover.
Competition classes include begonias, cacti, flower arranging, fruit, handicrafts, junior entries, pansies, roses and vegetables, showcasing the considerable time, skill and dedication that exhibitors put into their entries.
For many competitors, preparing for the show represents months of work, nurturing plants and produce in the hope of achieving that perfect bloom, impressive vegetable or prize-winning display.
Visitors can also enjoy garden and craft stalls, pallet gardens, flower demonstrations and musical entertainment, helping to make the event an enjoyable day out for keen gardeners and families alike.
The show continues a great tradition of bringing the community together and celebrating gardening, horticulture and home-grown talent while also encouraging a new generation to get involved.

Ayr & District Flower Show takes place at Ayr Racecourse on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August 2026, from 10am until 5pm. Admission is £7 at the gate, with accompanied children under 16 admitted free. Assistance dogs only.
