Ayr-based logistics and bulk material handling specialist PortRail Group has announced the appointment of industry expert Neil Stoddart as its new Head of Forestry & Marine.

The appointment marks another significant step forward for the growing St Quivox company as it continues to expand its specialist logistics, shipping and material handling services across Scotland, the UK and Ireland.
Neil brings more than three decades of experience in round timber harvesting, haulage and shipping operations to the role. His arrival follows the successful integration of his business, Creel Maritime, into the PortRail Group.
In his new position, Neil will lead the development of PortRail’s forestry and marine operations, including timber haulage, forest infrastructure projects, shipping services, floating piers and marine logistics.
Widely respected throughout the industry, he has built a reputation for delivering practical solutions, managing complex operations and developing strong working relationships across Scotland’s forestry and maritime sectors.
Speaking about his appointment, Neil said he was excited to join the company during a period of continued growth and development.
