STV has requested permission to use the front section of Fort Street car park on Friday, July 17, while scenes are filmed for an upcoming series of the popular detective drama.

Filming is expected to take place between 9.30am and 11am, with temporary restrictions likely to be introduced around the car park during the production.

The visit is expected to attract interest from residents and visitors, with camera crews, production vehicles and other equipment likely to be visible in the area throughout the morning.

Fort Street car park is close to the seafront and town centre, meaning the production could provide another welcome showcase for Largs and its distinctive coastal setting.

Although Shetland is based around the Northern Isles, the programme has regularly used locations elsewhere in Scotland to create scenes for the long-running crime series.

Motorists planning to use Fort Street car park on Friday morning are advised to look out for temporary signs and allow additional time to find alternative parking if restrictions are in place.

Details about the scene being filmed and which cast members may be involved have not been disclosed.
