Under the baton of conductor Stefano Boccacci, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra will present an exciting programme featuring some of classical music’s most celebrated composers, promising an evening filled with energy, elegance and beautiful melodies

The concert will take audiences on a musical journey inspired by folk traditions, dance and storytelling, with works by Ligeti, Vaughan Williams, Mozart and Beethoven.

Ligeti’s colourful interpretation of Eastern European folk melodies will bring a lively and captivating element to the programme, while Vaughan Williams offers a gentler musical experience, drawing on the beauty and simplicity of traditional English folk music.

One of the evening’s highlights will see BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Section Principal Horn Chris Gough take centre stage as soloist in Mozart’s much-loved horn concerto.

The programme will also feature Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony, a work celebrated for its elegance, humour and remarkable energy, bringing the evening’s performance to a memorable conclusion.

The orchestra’s return is particularly welcome for Ayr Arts Guild, whose dedicated volunteers continue to bring high-quality classical music performances to South Ayrshire.

The concert will take place in the historic Ayr Town Hall, one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks, featuring its distinctive spire designed by architect Thomas Hamilton in 1827.
