One of Ayrshire’s best-known pies has picked up a major national accolade.
Brownings the Bakers’ famous Kilmarnock Pie was named Meat Product of the Year at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2026.
The award was announced at the prestigious ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow on Thursday evening, recognising the quality and craftsmanship behind one of the Kilmarnock bakery’s most recognisable products.
For Brownings, the award is being celebrated as a team achievement, with staff involved across every stage of the Kilmarnock Pie’s journey, from making and packing the product to selling and distributing it across Scotland.
Nicola McCulloch, Commercial Director at Brownings, said:
“This is a fantastic result for everyone at Brownings and one we’re incredibly proud of. The Kilmarnock Pie is a product that means a lot to us, and seeing the team recognised for all the work that goes into making it is brilliant.
“We were up against two other fantastic products in the final, so to come away with the award makes the achievement even more special.”
The latest success adds another major accolade to the Brownings name and comes as the Kilmarnock Pie continues to reach customers across Scotland.
As well as being available through Brownings’ own shops and website, the pie is stocked by Aldi, Asda, Co-op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Scotmid and SPAR stores.
The family bakery has also thanked customers for their continued support.

The award puts an Ayrshire favourite firmly in the national spotlight, with the Kilmarnock Pie now officially recognised among Scotland’s award-winning food products.
