The Chinook will perform a special flypast at the International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight!
We’re excited to announce that the Joint Aviation Command Chinook will pay a visit to the skies at Ayr shore front on both days of the event – Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September 2026.
The helicopter is instantly recognisable by the two sets of rotor blades sitting on top of the aircraft, which rotate in opposite directions. These rotor blades, which enable it to perform advanced manoeuvres, make an unmistakable sound that audiences can hear long before the Chinook is in sight!
