Ayr will welcome musicians from Germany next month when the acclaimed Chamber Philharmonic Europe returns to the town for a special evening of classical music.
The Cologne-based ensemble will take to the stage at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, October 17, bringing an impressive programme featuring some of classical music’s most celebrated composers.
Trumpeter Cyrill Gussaroff will be the featured soloist for Albinoni’s Concerto Saint Marc for Trumpet and Orchestra.
Music lovers can also look forward to works by Corelli, Rachmaninoff, Mozart and Fauré during the chamber concert.
The evening will reach its finale with two of the most recognisable pieces in the classical repertoire - Autumn and Winter from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
The visit forms part of the 38th annual Ayr Concert Series, organised by volunteers from Ayr Arts Guild.
Founded in 1973, the Guild has spent more than five decades bringing live music and cultural performances to audiences in Ayr.
Tickets are priced at £25 and are available from the Gaiety Theatre box office.
The box office is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am until 4pm and Saturday from 10am until 1pm.
