After what has felt like a disappointing start to the summer, there’s finally some good news for sun-seekers across Ayrshire.

Forecasters are predicting a welcome spell of warm weather from Friday, with temperatures expected to climb to around 24°C across much of Ayrshire before continuing through the weekend and into next week.
While it won’t be wall-to-wall sunshine, there should still be plenty of bright spells mixed with some cloud, creating ideal conditions for getting outdoors without the intense heat seen elsewhere in the UK. Overnight temperatures are also expected to remain pleasantly mild, making for comfortable summer evenings.

The improving weather comes after weeks of unsettled conditions, with many people wondering if summer had forgotten about Ayrshire altogether. Instead, a warmer air mass is set to move in later this week, bringing the best run of summer weather the region has seen in some time.
If you’re planning a trip to the beach, a barbecue, or simply making the most of the school holidays, this weekend could be the perfect opportunity. As always, remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and take care in the stronger UV levels, even if there’s some cloud around.
