The summer heatwave is set to continue across Ayrshire this week, with temperatures climbing even higher over the coming days as warm, settled conditions remain firmly in place.

After reaching around 24°C today (Monday), temperatures are forecast to rise to 26°C on Tuesday, before peaking at a scorching 28°C on both Wednesday and Thursday. Even by Friday, conditions are expected to remain very warm with highs of 25°C, making for a prolonged spell of summer weather.
While there will be some cloud at times rather than uninterrupted sunshine, the week is expected to stay largely dry with plenty of sunny spells, providing ideal conditions for trips to the beach, parks and outdoor attractions across Ayrshire.

Forecasters say the warm spell is being driven by an area of high pressure, bringing some of the hottest temperatures Ayrshire has seen so far this summer. With UV levels remaining high, people heading outdoors are being encouraged to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and seek shade during the hottest part of the day.
If you’re planning to make the most of the weather, it’s looking like the perfect week to do it, with temperatures expected to remain well above the seasonal average right through to the weekend.
