New Prestwick Baptist Church will welcome its new pastor during a special induction service this weekend.
The service will take place at 11am on Sunday, 30 August, at the church on 192 Prestwick Road.
The appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the church, which has served the local community for more than 130 years.
It also represents a significant change following the departure of former pastor Kenneth Ross, who led the congregation for 22 years.
The new pastor said everyone in the community would be warmly welcomed at the induction, regardless of whether they regularly attend church or are completely new to Christianity.
He said: “I firmly believe the good news of the death and new life of Jesus Christ is the hope everyone needs to hear, and I want to make this impact for the good of our local community.”
A light lunch will be provided following the service, offering those attending an opportunity to meet the new pastor and members of the congregation.
The induction service begins at 11am on Sunday, 30 August, at New Prestwick Baptist Church, 192 Prestwick Road.
