At around 8.05am on Friday, 2 October, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a white Range Rover Evoque on Muirkirk Road.

Emergency services attended, and the pedestrian, a 65-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The road was closed to allow for investigations to take place and re-opened at 2.15pm.
Sergeant Brian Simpson said:
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to speak to officers to come forward.
“We know that motorists drove through the scene immediately after the crash and we would be keen to speak with them to review any dash-cam footage to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
