Pupils from across South Ayrshire put their design and engineering skills to the test at Ayr Rotary Club’s annual Technology Tournament, held at Belmont Academy.

South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell attended the event, which challenged school teams to solve a practical technology task using materials supplied by the organisers.
Participants had to design, develop and build a working solution, drawing on their learning in science, technology, engineering and maths, known as STEM.
The competition also gave the young people an opportunity to develop their teamwork, communication and timekeeping skills as they worked together to complete the challenge.

Marr College won the Foundation category, Carrick Academy took the Intermediate title and Kyle Academy claimed victory in the Advanced category.
Provost Campbell presented trophies to the winning teams and congratulated all the young people who took part for their efforts.
