Residents and visitors are being encouraged to explore Arran by bus during this year’s Festival of Food & Drink.

The festival runs from 23 October to 2 November, showcasing the island’s food and drink producers and local businesses. Details of participating venues and events are available on the Arran Festival of Food & Drink website. (arransfoodjourney.com)
Stagecoach, which sponsors the event, says its island services offer a convenient way to visit participating venues while helping to reduce congestion and pressure on parking.

Buses serve the ferry terminal and connect communities across Arran, giving visitors arriving by ferry an opportunity to explore the island using public transport.
The operator is also encouraging island residents to use the festival as an opportunity to visit businesses in other communities and sample more of Arran’s local produce.
Fiona Doherty, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Scotland, said: “The team at Stagecoach is proud to sponsor the Arran Festival of Food & Drink and we would encourage everyone to leave the driving to us and hop on our regular island bus service when visiting the producers and businesses taking part in the event.”
She added: “We run our Arran bus service from morning until late, connecting communities and supporting local tourism right across the island so it is very easy to hop on our bus and enjoy the festival!”

According to Stagecoach, passengers can benefit from a £2 single fare cap on Arran, while eligible under-22s and over-60s can travel free with a valid National Entitlement Card.
DayRider tickets provide unlimited travel throughout the day, with group tickets also available for families and friends travelling together.
