A well-known Prestwick pub The BUF has announced it will close its doors for the final time next month, bringing an end to years of serving the local community.

In a heartfelt message shared with customers, the venue confirmed it will officially close on Sunday, 2nd August, but reassured patrons that it will remain open every day until then, with staff looking forward to hosting one final Prestfest before saying goodbye.
The announcement thanks the many customers, friends and supporters who have walked through its doors over the years, describing the pub as much more than just a business.
Owners reflected on the countless memories created at the venue, saying it had been a place where people came together to celebrate special occasions, build lasting friendships and enjoy unforgettable nights out.
A special tribute was also paid to the pub’s team, both past and present, with particular recognition given to Chris Cole, who has managed the venues for more than 10 years. The message praised his hard work, dedication and commitment, describing the staff as being at the heart of everything the business had achieved.
The statement concludes by saying that, while it is sad to say goodbye, the owners are incredibly proud of the memories made and grateful for the support shown over the years.
Signing off with “thanks and love”, Karen Finnie thanked everyone for being part of the pub’s story, adding that the memories and friendships made along the way will always be cherished.
The closure marks the end of an era for one of Prestwick’s familiar venues, with many locals expected to call in over the coming weeks to share one last drink and celebrate the memories before the doors close for the final time on Sunday, 2nd August.
