Interior designers across Ayrshire are being invited to put their creative stamp on a new generation of show homes
St. Modwen Homes searches for a design partner in the West of Scotland.
The homebuilder has launched a search for a designer to create the interiors of its first show homes in the region, with the successful applicant also having the potential to work on future developments.
The initial project will involve two very different family homes at new St. Modwen Homes developments in Bellshill and Bargeddie.
Designers will be asked to transform the four-bedroom Bramgate at Huxley Quarter and the five-bedroom Arness at Everley Park.
The properties will become the company’s first show homes in the West of Scotland, and St. Modwen Homes says it wants the successful designer to help establish a fresh and contemporary identity as the business expands across the region.
Rather than using the same interior scheme for both properties, the company is looking for someone who can give each home its own personality while retaining a recognisable overall style.
The brief covers everything from statement furniture and feature lighting to wallpaper, colour schemes, flooring, window treatments, artwork and finishing touches.
Designers are being encouraged to create interiors that are aspirational but also welcoming and relatable to prospective buyers.
The commission could also lead to further work, with St. Modwen Homes hoping to establish a longer-term creative partnership as it develops more homes across the West of Scotland.

“Importantly, we see this as the start of a relationship rather than a one-off project.
“The right designer will have the opportunity to help shape the look and feel of our show homes as we continue to grow across the region, so we’re really looking forward to seeing the ideas and creative thinking that come forward.”
The judging panel will include Louise Caldwell; Eileen Kesson, Design Director of Envision; and Kylie Reid, founder of egg.
Eileen Kesson brings 25 years of experience in show homes and residential interiors, while Kylie Reid will contribute her property and interior design experience as well as a perspective on what appeals to everyday homebuyers.
How Ayrshire designers can apply
Applications opened on September 24 and will close on October 31, 2026.
Entrants must have a UK-registered business and hold Public Liability Insurance.
The successful design partner is expected to be announced on December 1, with work beginning during December.
The completed show home is scheduled to open in March 2027.
