An Ayrshire nurse has been recognised for her outstanding dedication to patients and families receiving dialysis treatment at home.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Home Haemodialysis Nurse Lesley Moore has been named the latest recipient of the Isabella Kimmett Compassionate Care Award.
Presented twice a year, the award celebrates members of staff who demonstrate exceptional compassion and provide person-centred care.
Lesley, who is part of the team based at the John Lynch Renal Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse, was nominated for consistently going above and beyond to support people managing dialysis in their own homes.
As well as providing specialist clinical care, Lesley has been praised for her patience, understanding and ability to build trust with patients and their families during what can be a challenging and life-changing experience.
Patients said Lesley makes them feel as though they are the only person she is caring for, taking time to listen to their concerns and fears before responding with kindness, reassurance and practical support.
The award was presented by Jacqueline Thomson, daughter of the late Isabella Kimmett, alongside NHS Ayrshire & Arran Nurse Director Jennifer Wilson.
Jennifer said: “At NHS Ayrshire & Arran, we are committed to embedding compassion and person-centred care throughout our services.
“Lesley truly embodies these values, and the impact she has had on the lives of local patients and their families is truly exceptional.
“This award is thoroughly deserved, and I extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to her.”
Members of the public, patients, families and colleagues can nominate someone for a future Isabella Kimmett Compassionate Care Award.
Nomination forms are available by emailing compassionatecareaward@aapct.scot.nhs.uk.
