Seamill Hydro has marked National Fitness Day with the official opening of a new wellness café and boutique Reformer Pilates studio on the Ayrshire coast.

The Club House café and purpose-built Pilates studio opened today, Wednesday, September 16, as the latest additions to the Hydro Health Club.

The development forms part of the family-owned hotel’s wider plans to transform Seamill Hydro into a complete coastal wellness resort by 2027.

Designed for health club members, hotel guests and the wider community, the new facilities are intended to provide more opportunities for people to exercise, recover and socialise within the resort.

NEW CLUB HOUSE CAFÉ

The Club House combines a wellness café with a dedicated recovery bar, providing somewhere for visitors to refuel following a workout, meet friends for coffee or relax after swimming or taking part in a fitness class.

The menu includes freshly made smoothies, protein shakes, speciality coffees, nutritious meals and a range of wellness-focused drinks.

Opening alongside the café is Seamill Hydro’s new boutique Reformer Pilates studio, where specialist-led classes will be delivered in small groups.

The contemporary studio has been equipped with Technogym SandStone Reformers, with each class limited to just six participants.

The smaller class sizes are designed to allow instructors to provide participants with more individual guidance and support.

Sessions will focus on controlled movement, with exercises aimed at improving strength, stability, posture and flexibility. Classes will be available for different abilities, including people trying Reformer Pilates for the first time.

Aaron Kyle, Director at RAD Group Hotel, said National Fitness Day was an appropriate occasion to officially launch the facilities.

He said: “The day is about showing that physical activity can be for everyone, and that is exactly what we want these new facilities to represent: an inclusive, welcoming environment where people can move, refuel and invest in their wellbeing.

“Reformer Pilates has grown enormously in popularity, but there are still limited opportunities to experience it locally.

“We wanted to create a beautiful and welcoming studio where people can enjoy high-quality classes with more personalised support, whether they are complete beginners or already familiar with Reformer Pilates.

“With only six people in each class, our instructors can spend more time supporting every participant, helping them to build confidence, develop their technique and get the most from each session.”

Mr Kyle said The Club House had been designed to complement both the new studio and the wider health club.

He added: “The Club House complements the studio and the wider health club by giving people somewhere to refuel, recover or simply meet friends for coffee.

“These openings represent another important step in the continued development of Seamill Hydro.

“Our ambition is to bring outstanding wellness facilities to the Ayrshire coast while ensuring they remain welcoming and accessible to our members, hotel guests and the local community.”

REFORMER PILATES CLASSES

The initial timetable will see classes running at 7am, 8am, 9am, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm from Monday to Thursday.

Friday and Saturday sessions will take place at 9am, 10am and 11am, while Sunday classes are scheduled for 9am, 10am, 11am, noon and 1pm.

Additional introductory taster sessions will be offered during the launch period.

Classes last around 50 minutes and advance booking is required because only six spaces are available for each session.

Members can book up to five days in advance, with non-members able to book three days before a class.

The timetable is subject to change, with visitors advised to check current availability through Seamill Hydro’s fitness class timetable or the Technogym app.

The latest investment follows completion of the first stage of the Hydro Health Club redevelopment and forms part of the RAD Hotel Group’s longer-term development of Seamill Hydro.

The new facilities officially opened as National Fitness Day encourages people across the UK, regardless of age, background or previous experience, to make physical activity part of their lives.
